John D. Hetland Memorial Scholarships

5/24/2021 – The Racine Police Association would like to congratulate the recipients of the 2021 Officer John Hetland Memorial Scholarships. This year’s recipients are:

Officer John Hetland Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Hannah C. Curtin, a senior at Union Grove High School. Hannah plans to attend Grand Canyon University in the fall, majoring in Elementary Education.

Officer John Hetland Memorial: Athletic Scholarship was awarded to Elizabeth P. Hanstedt, a senior at Racine Horlick High School. Elizabeth plans to attend the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in the fall, majoring in Bio-Medical Studies.

Congratulations to both of these students and best wishes on their future endeavors.

 

The Racine Police Association is proud to announce scholarships in memory of Officer John David Hetland who was killed in the line of duty on June 17th 2019.

Scholarship General Criteria Required:

  1. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above at the end of the 1st semester.
  2. Must be graduating at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
  3. Must be accepted to and enrolled in a two or four year college at the time the scholarship is awarded.
